On 25 February we went down to Vogelplas Starrevaart, just a few kilometers south of Leiden, and discovered it was a great place to watch birds. There is a very nice hide in the middle of the lake, and throughout the year we have seen many birds come and go as we visited the area. During the summer we saw here dozens of Spoonbills. [...]
