The Bufflehead is a small species of duck native to North America. This week’s highlighted t-shirt, Bufflehead Sketch, features a Bufflehead in flight, flying away. The rough black-and-white sketch coveys motion and the beauty of a duck in flight. The design is distressed for a vintage look on certain products. Both versions are shown below.
The weekly T-Shirt Tuesday feature on this blog will go on hiatus in 2011. However, t-shirts and other products may still be featured from time to time.
In honor of today’s DVD release of Scott Crocker’s Ghost Bird, I’m featuring several Ivory-billed Woodpecker t-shirts this week. We’ve got 10 different IBWO designs in the shop, some of which have been featured before: BILF; Smarter Than Your Skeptic; Got Pecker?; and iLive. The remaining pecker t-shirt designs are shown below. All Ivory-billed Woodpecker t-shirts and gifts in our shop can be found here.
This week’s highlighted t-shirt is inspired by roadside information signs. Here the icons are for Eat (knife/fork), Sleep (person on bed) and Bird (represented by binoculars). This is one of two versions of Eat Sleep Bird in the shop; the other one features a bird blind to represent Bird.
This week’s highlighted t-shirts are two more for twitchers. First up is the collegiate-style Property of Twitching Dept, shown here on a kelly green tee. Next we have Through Rain or Sleet… I Twitch, shown here on a women’s hoodie. This one is particularly appropriate for anyone who has bad luck with the weather when it comes to twitching a rarity!
Parrot Week here at MagnificentFrigatebird.com continues with this week’s edition of T-Shirt Tuesday, where I invite you to have a look at the selection of parrot-themed tees available at sister site Birdorable. With over 60 parrot species represented, there is something for everyone!
I’m posting this week’s highlighted t-shirt, Peregrine Falcon Sketch, in light of a neat story I saw on the news this morning. It seems the British Olympic sailing team has been suffering from nuisance gulls hanging around their ships. The noise disrupts the athletes’ rest and acidic gull droppings damage the vessel. They have a new teammate on board to help them with the problem – Felix, a Peregrine Falcon. You can read all about Felix here: Olympic sailors get help from a feathered friend .
Peregrine Falcon Sketch is a black-and-white pencil-style drawing of a Peregrine Falcon in a stoop. Peregrines are the fastest creatures on earth, reaching speeds of up to 200 mph while diving for prey. This stylish design looks great on both dark and light apparel. On light apparel, you can also choose a weathered design for a vintage look.

This week’s highlighted t-shirt sports a simple text design in a collegiate-style font. Birding Addict is distressed for a vintage look.
This week’s highlighted t-shirt is a colorful pop art inspired design. A stylized face of a Great Horned Owl is shown in different colors inside nine contrasting squares. Pop Art Owl Face looks great on dark or light apparel.
This week’s highlighted t-shirts feature bird alpha-codes in Euro oval sticker style. These were designed for oval bumper stickers, but the design works on t-shirts and apparel as well. There are 16 species to choose from, and your requests are welcome! Shown here are GHOW (Great-horned Owl); IBWO (Ivory-billed Woodpecker); and MAFR (Magnificent Frigatebird).
Today’s highlighted shirt comes from a collaborative shop by Zazzle designers to benefit the Wildlife Rehabilitation & Nature Preservation Society. Proceeds from sales from ArtVsOilSpill go towards wildlife rescue in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster.
All of the lovely artwork featured in the ArtVsOilSpill shop is worth a look. I’ve chosen Great Blue Heron by Jane Freeman to highlight here. The lovely artist image of a Great Blue Heron head in profile is captioned with “Be My Voice.”
