CONTESTS WITH DEADLINES near and far

NEW! Two-Fisted Birdwatcher is giving away a blog-branded mug. Find this month’s hidden bird (Snow Bunting) to be eligible for the drawing. This regular giveaway usually ends by the end of the month, so submit your answer before December is over! See the contest page for details.

Bird Watcher’s Digest is giving away a pair of Celestron Nature 8×42 binoculars and a Wingscapes AutoFeeder. These prize drawings end January 8 and January 3, respectively. See BWD’s Contest Central page for details.

International Bird Rescue is sponsoring an unusual contest which is tied to a very interesting citizen science project. They are asking the public to submit sightings of California Brown Pelicans who are wearing blue bands. The birds have been rehabilitated and released by the rescue group, and they want to keep track of their success and movements. The top submitters have the opportunity to win Eagle Optics binoculars. See this page for more details: Report Blue-Banded Pelicans. The contest runs through January 2, 2013.

NEW! Project FeederWatch has a new, ongoing weekly contest that will run for the duration of the current FeederWatch season, which runs through April 5, 2013. Participants can enter photos for the weekly themed competitions. Prizes include gifts from Cornell Lab and from Bob’s Red Mill Nature Foods. The contest via Facebook; see the Birdspotter Photo Contest Page for more information.

Register for the Wild Bird Trust contest for a chance to win Swarovski binoculars. Enter before April 22, 2013 for your chance to win.
